Lord,
in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my day before you and wait.

Before the messages and the lists,
before the day asks anything of me,
let me remember that your mercies are new this morning.

Go before me into the hours I cannot yet see.
Make me attentive to the people you place in my path,
and unhurried enough to notice them.
Whatever this day holds, hold me.
