Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 100:4

---

Giver of every good thing,
before I ask you for anything, let me thank you.

Thank you for breath, and morning, and a place to begin.
Thank you for the people whose names I would miss if they were gone.
Thank you for the small mercies I walked past today without noticing.

Teach me to live with open hands,
grateful for what is, instead of anxious for what is not.
Where I have taken your gifts for granted, gentle me.

I enter your gates with thanksgiving, and your courts with praise.

*Amen.*
