Why we built Sellah
Sellah is a Christian prayer app that quiets your distracting apps at the times you choose, asks how your heart is, and writes a personal, Scripture-grounded prayer in your own voice.
Sellah began with a simple, uncomfortable noticing: we wanted to pray, and our phones kept winning. So we built the app we wished existed, one that turns the same phone that distracts you into a gentle door back to God.
How Sellah came to be

We kept reaching for our phones in the very minutes we meant to pray. The intention was there; the attention was not.

The person behind Sellah
Alex Melo
Founder, Melo Designer GmbH
Alex Melo, in full Guilherme Alexandre Gonçalves de Melo, is a Brazilian engineer living in Germany, with more than ten years building software. He founded Melo Designer GmbH in 2019, and as a TÜV-certified data-protection officer he cares that your prayers and check-ins stay private. Sellah is the prayer app he wanted for his own life.
The studio behind Sellah
Sellah is built by Melo Designer GmbH, a German software studio founded by Alex Melo in 2019. The studio builds modern software, AI products, and privacy-first tools, and Sellah is the prayer app at the heart of that work.
