Breath prayer

Be still, and know that He is God

Before or after prayer, take a few slow breaths with a rising tide and a short Scripture breath-prayer, one line on the inhale, one on the exhale. A small, wordless way to let your shoulders drop and meet God in the quiet.

  • Slow, guided breaths. A rising tide sets a calm, easy rhythm.
  • Scripture on each breath. A short line to pray in, and one to pray out.
  • Anytime you need it. A minute of stillness before, after, or instead of words.

How a breath prayer goes

  1. 01

    Watch the tide rise

A gentle rising tide sets a calm, slow rhythm for your breath.

  2. 02

    Breathe the Word in

A short Scripture line lights up as you breathe in, and another as you breathe out.

  3. 03

    Grow still

A minute or two later, your shoulders drop and your heart is quiet before God.

A small way to be still

01

Scripture-led breathing

Each breath is paired with a line of God’s Word, not just a count.

02

Before or after prayer

Use it to arrive, to close, or on its own when the day feels loud.

03

As long as you need

A single minute is enough; stay as long as the quiet serves you.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.
